キキが修行する町のモデルはどこ？


主な舞台になった町は、スウェーデンのゴトランド島にあるヴィスビューおよび首都ストックホルムの町とその近郊がモデルになっています。
実際にヴィスビューにはジブリチームがロケハンに訪れています。

その他、背景にはアイルランドやスウェーデン、ポルトガルなどで取材してきた町の風景を使い、宮崎監督によれば「第二次世界大戦を経験しなかったヨーロッパ」という設定だそうです。
